Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills are the ability to make movements using the small muscles in our hands and wrists. Kids use fine motor skills to do many school-related tasks. There are things you can do at home to help improve your child’s fine motor skills.
How are fine motor skills treated?
Fine motor skills involve use of the small muscles in the hands. These include skills such as: grasping objects, writing, cutting with scissors, shoe-tying, and fastening buttons. These skills are needed to for self-care and participation in activities at school and at home. An individual plan of treatment will be created with therapy activities to meet needs.
