Strengths in the field:
Amy has worked in school settings (preschool to high school) in Virginia and North Carolina before coming to Therapy Works as a part-time therapist in 2017. Her experiences in the schools gave her an appreciation for helping children who have a variety of speech-language delays, succeed in and out of the classroom. She has also done an internship in Auditory-Verbal therapy with children who have cochlear implants/hearing aids.
Amy’s interests in the field include: phonology/articulation disorders in children, play-based language therapy for early intervention, school-age language therapy, and oral approaches to therapy for children with hearing impairments.
Amy’s hobbies include reading, hiking, and playing the ukulele. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children.
