Strengths in the field:
Amy has worked in school settings (preschool to high school) in Virginia and North Carolina before coming to Therapy Works as a part-time therapist in 2017. Her experiences in the schools gave her an appreciation for helping children who have a variety of speech-language delays, succeed in and out of the classroom. She has also done an internship in Auditory-Verbal therapy with children who have cochlear implants/hearing aids.
Amy’s interests in the field include: phonology/articulation disorders in children, play-based language therapy for early intervention, school-age language therapy, and oral approaches to therapy for children with hearing impairments.
Personal Interests:
Amy’s hobbies include reading, hiking, and playing the ukulele. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children.
